Tired of the Trump trolls and their idiotic lies..?

Want to read the Mueller report yourselves, so that you know the facts..?

Then you can download it here, directly from the Justice Department:

https://www.justice.gov/storage/report.pdf

Although heavily redacted, the report nevertheless implicates Trump in the following crimes:
Collusion, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, witness intimidation, bank fraud, insurance fraud, emoluments and possible treason.

Well, there's a bit of mud on the face of all the liberals that started calling Mueller a Trump-enabling hack when the Barr letter came out.

The report proves he is exactly what he was hired to be - a laser-focused non-partisan finder of fact.

It has also proved that the Attorney General is a partisan hack.

Admittedly it is a bit long for me to read on the toilet, but I have read a few decent summaries of it.

Heh, well... I wasn't one of those liberals. I just kept saying "We'll see what happens" before the Mueller report was released.

But I can't blame the people who were suspicious of Mueller. There is so much high-level Republican corruption in America right now, that it's hard to know who to trust.

At this point, I'm looking forward to seeing Mueller testify directly to Congress about what he knows, and how he went about collecting his evidence. McGahan also.

We should all keep in mind that back in the early 70's, most Americans were opposed to impeaching Richard Nixon... until they saw the Watergate hearings on TV. White House Special Counsel John Dean's testimony, in particular, was devastating to Nixon, because within a week the public opinion polls shifted dramatically. Before long, we started seeing "IMPEACH WITH HONOR" bumper stickers all over the place. I expect something similar to happen in this era.... we need to have open, televised hearings into Trump's lawlessness. That's when we'll see Trump's approval rating drop down into the 20's, along with a widespread call for impeachment.

I'm still expecting Trump to leave office by the end of this summer... but we'll see.   8)

Well, I *was* one of "those liberals" and I may have jumped the gun slightly based on Barr's dishonest "summary", but the fact is that Mueller weaseled out of issuing any indictments or taking any sort of principled stand on what was uncovered. He just handed over the data and said, "Good luck, suckers! You wanna go against Trump's cult of personality? I'll be over here eating popcorn!" I think he's hoping that Trump and the Democrats kind of mutually annihilate one another, leaving the door open for mainstream Republicanism to end up on top. Mueller is a Republican after all, and even the ones who despise Trump are still beholden to trickle-down economics, establishing the permanent hegemony of the 0.1%, global military interventionism, climate change denial, etc. The enemy of one's enemy is only one's "friend" until the enemy is defeated. Then watch your back. Mueller handed the Democrats a sword with no handle. Can they successfully wield it without being cut too badly in the process? Only time will tell. :P

Heh, I didn't mean anything by "those liberals." I'm a liberal, too. I'm so liberal that I often scare other liberals.  :P

Well anyway, I have a somewhat different take on what Mueller did...

He knew going into his investigation that, according to DOJ guidelines, there was no way for him to indict Trump. He did, on the other hand, indict nearly 40 other people connected to Trump.

I think Mueller's idea was simply to hand over his report to Congress, and then let them decide how best to proceed. Given the constraints placed upon him by the DOJ, I don't see how he could have done otherwise.

Now... as for this perception that the Dems will somehow be harmed if they impeach Trump, I would like to remind everyone that back at the end of the 90's, the Republicans attempted to hastily impeach Bill Clinton, without having so much as a single hearing beforehand. And as we all know, their attempt failed miserably and embarrassingly for them. Nevertheless, in the following national election, the Republicans won the presidency, and did pretty good in the House and Senate, too. So I don't really see any precedent which would lead anyone to believe that impeachment will harm the Dems... especially given the fact that, unlike the Clinton case, the majority of the free world detests Donald Trump.

So I feel the the best way forward for the Dems is to hold publicly televised hearings, a la the Watergate hearings, and then move forward with impeachment if the evidence (and public opinion) supports it. I don't think it will harm them at all, really. Probably the opposite: most Americans will thank them.

Trump's rabid base is what concerns me. There is basically no precedent outside Germany in the 1930s for such a hardcore cadre of followers who will back their guy no matter what (and no, I am not saying Trump is the next Hitler, he is far too stupid...not to mention that he is a tool, directly or indirectly, of a foreign power, which Hitler was not). These people may riot in the streets if Trump calls them to. At the very least they will never support impeachment, because they see Trump as the guy to make white people great again. It is these people whose wrath will be exploited by more mainstream Repukes to try and make the Democrats suffer for any attempt at impeachment. We can only hope they direct part of that wrath at Republicans as well, condemning them as quislings and "RINOs" and voting out any Republican who voted to support impeachment. ::)

But maybe I'm just too pessimistic and cynical. Maybe I am underestimating the intelligence, discernment and integrity of my fellow Americans. Maybe Trump's base will wake up and realize they've been sold a bill of goods (I hope so because there are several in my own family...though I hope they at least are among the folks more likely to be swayed by actual evidence). We can only wait and see. I hope we can move past this dark chapter in American history...though I also fear our country may have permanently lost some of its international prestige, especially with the one-two whammy of the Bush II and Trump administrations (Obama was only able to restore part of what GWB cost us...and then along came Trump). This country, and planet, can not afford its slide towards the right wing. We need to course-correct and jump-start the Green New Deal, or else none of this shit will matter in 100 years when humankind is either extinct or heading that way...or at least reverting to savagery in the few remaining habitable areas of the planet, never again to rise as a technological society because all the easily accessible resources were tapped long ago (and gasoline goes bad in a couple of years, so no Mad Max stuff). :P

Oh, don't worry... they'll embrace the Green New Deal when gasoline costs $200/gallon.   ;)

I think people worry too much about Trump's base. Most of them are frightened and insecure little cowards, which explains why they embrace Trump. They think he's the tough guy, who's somehow going to save them all from obscurity. Almost none of them have the guts to actually take to the streets... and the ones who do will find themselves hopelessly outnumbered and squashed like bugs.

The first F18's that fly out of California and buzz their shitty little trailer parks will definitely put the fear of god in them. While they stand there holding their daddy's shotgun and saying "Holy shit, Zeke... I think we done gone and bitten off way more 'n' we can chew..." Silly, impotent little pricks.

On the other hand, I've long had a sense that the USA was headed toward some sort of widespread violent upheaval. Board veterans should recall that for quite a few years, I've been counseling everyone to "Buy guns -- and learn how to use them." I was saying that years before Trump ran for office. America has been a pressure cooker waiting to blow its lid off... and I think Trump simply capitalized on that slowly building pressure and fed into it. He's just a two-bit con man and a shameless opportunist.

I am of the opinion that most Americans are good people, who won't allow themselves to be sucked into that crap any further than we already have. It's easy for a bunch of yokels to sit around in a bar somewhere, sucking down cheap brewskies, and ranting about how they should get organized and slaughter all the liberals. It's quite another matter to actually go through with it, and find yourselves facing impossible odds and certain defeat.

So I'm gonna hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. I got a Remington tactical that'll turn the biggest Nazi asshole into a screaming, bleeding pile of hamburger. Let's just hope that it never comes down to that.

I love this...

Robert Mueller has filed a complaint against William Barr. Specifically, Mueller has said that Barr misled Congress and the American people, with regard to the content of the Mueller report.

After filing his complaint, Mueller called Barr directly and expressed further displeasure with Barr's conduct.

Basically, Mueller is calling Barr a liar... and insisting that Barr release the full unredacted summaries that Mueller's own team had already written and attached to the now famous report.

In response today, Donald Trump has broken his own "tweet storm" record... posting something like 80 tweets by 9 AM. Whoa... slow down there, big fella...  ::)

There's a whole bunch of things that I could say about this... but do I really need to..?

My prediction that Trump will be out of office before the end of the summer still stands.

EDIT TO ADD: look up "pig-eyed sack of shit" and you'll find this guy's photo...

PROMISES THAT DONALD TRUMP MADE -- BACK IN 2016:

(1) "A big, beautiful concrete wall."  Didn't happen -- he lied.
(2) Mexico will pay for that wall.  Didn't happen -- he lied.
(3) A ban on all Muslims entering the USA.  Didn't happen -- he lied.
(4) Better and universal health care.  Didn't happen -- he lied.
(5) "Draining the swamp."  Didn't happen -- he lied.
(6) "Full transparency in Washington."  Didn't happen -- he lied.
(7) A middle-class tax cut.  Didn't happen -- he lied.
(8} An immediate end to all foreign wars.  Didn't happen -- he lied.
(9) Every single other promise that Trump made.  Didn't happen -- he lied.

Anyone see the new anti-abortion law in Alabama..? It's insane and flat-out evil.   >:(

How long ago was it that I made the prediction -- right here on this board -- that "within 15 years, there will be widespread violence in the streets of America" ...????????

I'm too lazy to look it up, but it feels like it was about 12 years ago. And back then, I made a strong recommendation to all liberals -- a recommendation that I still hold to:

Buy guns. And learn how to use them.

With the way tensions are building, it would't surprise me if someone did something really stupid and/or violent sometime soon especially with an election coming up.

Good work, Baby Donald..!!!

EDIT TO ADD:
Some of you may have seen posts from the witless Trump trolls, who claim that no matter what happens to Trump, Pence will pardon him afterward. This is in fact a LIE. The president does not have the authority to pardon state crimes... only federal crimes. And the fact of the matter is, New York state is where Trump will be nailed to the cross.

Still think Pence can pardon Trump..? Then look at this: https://www.justice.gov/pardon/pardon-information-and-instructions
Pay close attention to paragraph #2 on that Department of Justice document.

Do you know why Pelosi has been stalling on impeachment..? It's because she wants to hold off and impeach Trump next year... right before the 2020 election. She knows that the public tends to have a short memory, and she wants to bring the hammer down on Trump right before the election -- so that it will all be fresh in everyone's minds, when they head out to vote.

You know what's gonna be hilarious..?

Right now, a lot of Trumptards are running around saying that all of this crap is happening because the Dems are sore losers, and unable to accept their defeat in 2016.

When Trump gets annihilated in 2020... and the Republicans lose control of the Senate... I can't wait to see the whining and crying the Trumptards will be doing afterward.
