As for the Night Elf philia, I bet it was the voice actress.

I think it was just that French dance that they do.

That too, dunno the worgen and goblin dances (I bet the goblin one is a joke like the gnome's), but the BE and goat chicks were obviously given that dance animation for a reason.

I started WoW at the end of Wrath of the Lich King and the start of Cataclysm.

Although it was a fun experience at the start, it became increasingly tedious and boring the closer I got to level cap (which was 85 at the time).

While not as grind heavy as Lineage II or focused on gear drops like Diablo, there is a sense of tedium from trying to make some gold, level up your professions, and get progression in the dungeons and raids.

Many of my friends, which have been long time WoW veterans (and the ones who convinced me WoW was worthwhile), also agreed that this expansion was one of the most watered down and easy of all the expansions. Even the two "new" dungeons were reworks of the old troll Zul'amon and Zul'grub instances, just with modified loot, a reskined panther mount and buffed mobs.

To make matters worse, the final raid for the expansion was so easy that most guilds had it on farm doing the Hardmode versions from week one.

With this new expansion, all I see is the desecration of Warcraft lore, which I originally thought was pretty interesting (which I followed from Warcraft II and III into WoW) and the inclusion of many gimmicks, such as the pet fighting (think WoW Pokemon) and real money mounts and pets (some of which, I do admit look amazing and I have shelled out to purchase T-T).

All in all, I agree Cataclysm was the worst expansion for its time, and that Mists of Pandaria will soon take that title.

I started WoW at the end of Wrath of the Lich King and the start of Cataclysm.
I must honestly say that I feel sorry for you.

I've played since day one and stopped after my guild cleared Ulduar in Wrath, patch 3.1 it was, I believe.
What made WoW so amazing, for me at least, wasn't the gameplay, it wasn't the lore (though I did dig Warcraft lore) and it surely weren't the graphics.
It was the feeling of being immersed in a world with thousands of others. The feeling of awe when you saw someone in full T2 for the first time. The feeling of accomplishment when you finally managed to kill that one boss. The feeling of unity when your buddies would rush to help you in a hopeless situation.

In my eyes, most of this disappeared when Wrath came out, some of it even earlier. Take the PvP system for example: When the Honor system was reworked for the first time it lost a lot of appeal for me. Now, everybody could get the best gear, there was no longer any proper feeling of accomplishment associated with it. Before, only a hand full of people on a server were able to acquire it and when facing one of them you knew you were in deep sh*t. Now, it ceased to be something special.

Many regions of the game suffered in the same way, it was dumbed down and became fairly dull, soulless, so to say.
This happened gradually over time and I won't attribute it to one single expansion. It's just the question of when it finally crossed the line in the eyes of each individual player. For me, it was seeing the previews of the 3.2 raid and knowing that it would never reach the amount of awesome the previous raids had.

I admittedly got in to WOW recently. Just before the Panda crap started. I found it interesting, and enjoyed the questing, as well as the richness of the land. What turned me off was the Player vs Player BS. I mean, when I am level 20 and getting pounded by some dick who is level 65 or more. That seems fair. Then, you get the ass who sets in a graveyard and nails you as you respawn. Even more fun. What totally turned me off was when now, I can be flying, some some prick jumps off his mount, and kills me on the way to the ground.
I don't like being in games where  I am competing with someone much more powerful or higher level then I am. I don't want to  be exposed to death every 5 minutes, and have to stuggle back to my original point, after dying, only to be killed by the same asshole again.   If I wanted to fight other players, then I would and did go to the arena's where it's expected.
Hell, half the time I get killed, I never even see it coming. Frustrating beyond belief.

Even the dungeon parties that are formed seem to be nothing more then a free for all. No help, no assistance, just a mad scramble to get the goodies before someone else does....
If only the good die young, then I must be one bad ass, cause I sure as hell ain't no youngster

Yeah... well, the best response to ActiVision's ongoing destruction of WoW is a simple one:

Stop paying them.
All of you who are reading this thread should, in my carefully considered opinion, discontinue your WoW subscriptions and move your entire guilds over to a private server.

And if you really want to play the game in style, then just take a look at this picture:

What you see there is my own mage... the infamous "Tessera" that I took my online name from. She's wearing epic gear in every slot... I've simply changed the way that her gear appears (including making some of it be completely invisible, like her chest piece). And that pic isn't photo-shopped, nor is it someone else's cheesy looking nude WoW mod (there are several really dreadful ones out there on the web). Nope, those are my own high quality, fully-nude skin textures. And on -my- private WoW server... which is currently in development... ALL of the girls are going to look as gorgeous as my juicy little mage does.

The point that I am trying to make here is simply that NOBODY needs to keep paying ActiVision/Blizzard another penny for their shitty pay-to-play version of WoW. I happen to enjoy a bit of adult content in my games... mainly because -I- am an adult and that's what I am entertained by. Lots of adults enjoy a bit of bare skin in their games. It's quite natural... but you may prefer something else. Well on a private server, you can play the game YOUR way... and without being annoyed by brats, gold spammers, griefers and morons. Not to mention the idiotic and detached devs at Blizzard... and the greedy parasites in ActiVision, who hold their leashes.

So listen up, folks: stop bitching and whining on the official Blizz boards and just cancel your subs. And then, start learning about how you can play WoW for free... and in any way that you and your friends prefer. And if you are an adult and you would like to learn more, then just join this board or send me an e-mail, and I'll be happy to give you the facts.

As for my nude WoW girls... I will in fact be releasing them in the near future. So stay tuned.  ;)

I found that forum by that post (don't remember what did i originally searched for), I was intrested in the idea of a private server like that, but i saw i wandering on the forum, that it was canceled. Still nice forum I think :D

Pandas ruined it for me.

TBC was the start of it being less fun though.

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got. Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.

Makes me wonder why so many people hate the pandaren in WoW when they were in Warcraft 3.

Makes me wonder why so many people hate the pandaren in WoW when they were in Warcraft 3.

Because they weren't a playable race in WC3. They were just incidental NPC's.

Turning them into a playable race positively screams that WoW has shifted its primary market to pre-adolescents.
Meaning that everyone over the age of 12 years old is being shoved aside, in favor of disposable kiddie dollars.
